As first-generation college students, we both know the passion, sacrifice, and perseverance necessary for college students to achieve their dreams. Starting on the journey is often the easiest part and we recognize that it is harder to stay and complete the educational journey. Our parents instilled in us the value and importance of getting a higher education and endowing a scholarship is a way for us to support and encourage students who might otherwise face financial barriers to pursing higher education in the fields of Government or Social Work. We have seen the transformative power that education has had on our lives and we want to give this same opportunity to others that have been shared with us.
