Didi Stuart Memorial
Didi Stuart was a passionate perfectionist, a consummate professional and a constant breath of fresh air in the world of advertising and visual design. Honest, direct, insightful, beautiful and bright, Didi was respected and admired in the industry. Nothing escaped her keen vision or her wicked sense of humor. Nothing.
Didi was very dedicated to her profession where she remained constantly curious and vital. Having studied Art History and Design, she graduated from the University Of Texas at Austin with a degree in Advertising. Spanning over twenty years, her career began by working in several design studios which later took her to some of Austin’s larger advertising agencies, culminating by starting her own business. Her tough-as-nails get-it-done manner only barely masked one of the kindest hearts and generous souls in the business. She mentored and nurtured many finding their way in the industry. Didi’s army of friends and fans still remember her often and fondly 10 years after her far too premature death.
Didi was fiercely dedicated to ‘her boys’— a much loved wife to her husband Sam, and an adored mother to her sons Kirby and Elliot. It was this dedication to her family as well as to her career that inspired her to create Design House, a design studio she ran from her home. Her family is most grateful to everyone who made this scholarship possible and for commemorating Didi in such a loving way.
Didi inspired a legion of friends and colleagues during her fearless fight with cancer—if any force of nature could/should overcome another, Didi was that force.
She will forever be deeply missed. Didi would be greatly honored to know this scholarship in her name continues to benefit others.
