Chef Ernie Beasley Memorial

Chef Ernie Beasley Memorial

Chef Ernie Beasley studied at Florida State University, where he graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Communications and a burning desire to become a chef, a passion he developed early in life during family travels. Throughout his career, he worked as a chef, food and beverage director, research chef, director of education, director of training and product development, food stylist and hospitality instructor. During his tenure at the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation, he wrote and led the training for E-101 to develop high school restaurants, teaching students entrepreneurial skills to own and run a business and wrote the FSPrep curriculum for Texas, to align with the nationally recognized ProStart program, to teach culinary techniques and management skills (which transformed home economics classes into culinary education classes at high schools). Alief ISD named their annex school restaurant Ernie’s Bistro, after Chef Beasley, to acknowledge his guidance in setting up their school culinary program.
