SUREC (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Course) Internship

Purpose: This program is supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation GeoPaths program.

· Student must be entering their second year of higher education and be an enrolled ACC student pursuing a degree or certificate in a geoscience or STEM field. Preference will be given to geology/oceanography majors.
· Students must have completed or enrolled in (Fall 2017 or Spring 2018) Calculus 1 AND college-level geology/oceanography course.
· Student must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident of the United States.
· Student must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5.
· Students must submit two letters of recommendation from ACC faculty members and/or current employer.
· Students must sign a commitment to participate in the SUREC program for 12 weeks.
· Student must show academic promise based on past college coursework and/or activities.

*Terms of Internship:

  • Total of 12 stipend-supported positions are available for summer 2018. Stipend per student is $2500.
